Following the introduction of several new Veterans’ initiatives, Assumption has been recognized for its commitment to providing Veterans with quality higher education. The “Military Friendly” designation sets the standard for higher education institutions to best serve Veterans and their spouses. Understanding the challenges many Veterans face in pursuing an undergraduate or advanced degree, Assumption offers customized academic counseling and support, a peer-to-peer Veteran mentoring program, programs to assist Veterans with post-graduate employment outcomes, and much more. The Veterans Success Committee ensures Veteran students have a voice on campus, and a new Veterans Lounge provides a space on campus exclusively for Veterans to gather and support each other.
In May, the Department of Human Services and Rehabilitation Studies began offering a post-bachelor’s degree certificate program and a certificate of advanced graduate study for students whose goal is to provide services and support to service members, Veterans, and military families
