Sophia El-Hayek earned both her bachelor’s degree in international business and her MBA from Assumption with a goal of running her own business. Now an entrepreneur, she co-founded and runs Phenic Natural Skincare, a natural skincare brand based on Worcester, with a mission of bringing insight and appreciation of nature.
Caroline Rufo, a chemistry major who now works on the investor relations team at life science-focused communications agency MacDougall, credits her strong science education from Assumption for allowing her to diversify her career. Assumption has given her the foundational science knowledge needed to prepare her to pursue her doctorate.
Wilberto Rivera Perez and Edda Colon-Irizarry are champions of the liberal arts because the values, objectives, and balanced perspectives their education provided both inside and outside of the classroom have been instrumental in following their path in life. It is why they serve on the advisory council at Assumption.
It was by chance and opportunity that Patrick Murphy ’84 discovered a career in healthcare after a decade with a national accounting firm. But in the years since he entered the healthcare sector, Murphy has found his work to be in line with the values instilled in him by Assumption.
