French Government Awards Research Grant to Assumption Professor

Assumption’s Associate Professor of History Stuart Borsch, Ph.D., is part of a research project funded by the French and German governments, supporting the EGYLandscape Project. It is three-year research project exploring historical landscapes, agriculture, nature, and climate of Egypt throughout the Mamluk and Ottoman periods.

The Assumption Board of Trustees recently elected five new members including Suzanne Besnia, Micheál Kelly, Vincent Laclerq, Christine Marcks, and Stephen Skoly. Members of the board have a fiduciary responsibility to uphold and advance the mission of Assumption while providing governance of the institution as well.

After recognizing the emerging dangers of vaping from extensive research, Assumption made the decision to become a vape-free campus in April 2019. The well-being of students is a priority, as the institution is a community committed to the health of all. The policy is effective June 1, 2019.
