Assumption was recognized with a 2018 CASE Educational Fundraising Award for institutional excellence in fundraising programs in higher education. Assumption was selected to receive the award based off of three years of fundraising data and is one of six institutions to receive the recognition in the category of institutions.
Assumption established the Daniel Patrick Moynihan Center for Scholarship and Statesmanship, an endeavor with a national reach cultivating citizen inspired by the senator’s example to appreciate the link between ideas and action. The institute is funded by grants from the Thomas W. Smith Foundation and William and Flora Hewlett Foundation.
Greg Weiner, Ph.D., associate professor of political science, was named the next provost of Assumption, effective next academic year. Prof. Weiner’s appointment follows the retirement announcement of current Provost and Academic Vice President Louise Carroll Keeley, Ph.D., who will retire at the end of the current 2018–19 academic year.
