Enhancing its new undergraduate program in cybersecurity, Assumption has been named an official member of the National Cybersecurity Training and Education (NCyTE) Center. As a member-institution of this premier cybersecurity center, students and faculty are provided access to a wide range of cutting-edge resources and curriculum to complement Assumption’s cybersecurity program. Through this member- ship, Assumption joins an extensive network of academic institutions, businesses, and government agencies associated with the Center.
Awarded a National Science Foundation grant in 2018 to serve as a National Cyber Resource Center, the NCyTE Center provides teaching and training modules to its partners across the country with the mission of increasing the “quantity and quality of the cybersecurity workforce.” It aims to achieve this through a focus on student and faculty development, as well as curriculum development and dissemination.
“The NCyTE resources serve to supplement our current curriculum and will facilitate our efforts to promote multidisciplinary approaches to learning,” said Professor Raymond Albert, Ph.D., director of Assumption’s cybersecurity program. “We are working to extend cybersecurity content into other disciplines at the University. This is but one of many examples of how cybersecurity can protect and impact a number of critical fields.”
