For Terry Sheehahn, M.D. ’86, a liberal arts education at Assumption opened the door for a world of helping others. His time at Assumption inspired him to study rehabilitation medicine in medical school, then become a caregiver and champion for those with significant physical and mental impairments.

Jim Vogel met his wife, Holly, at Assumption, where they both studied rehabilitation counseling. Ever since 2000, they have called on the values and skills instilled in them during their four years at the institution to run Wellspring practice which offers support and treatment for special needs individuals.

Assumption Alums: Catalysts of Change

Classmates at Assumption, Andrew Chester and Mike Daly both shared an interest in greener living. Chester had an affinity for earth sciences and wanted to make a positive contribution to sustainability, while Daly promoted the development of an eco-friendlier campus. Later on, they formed the solar energy development company Greenskies.
