Partners in Scholarship

Assumption is collaborating with a variety of generous partners to put college within reach for many families. Alex Richardson, a “first generation American” of immigrant parents never counted on college; his initial plan was to go straight to the police academy shortly after high school, but summer baseball changed him.

Assumption Mourns Loss of Andy Laska

As the Assumption community mourns the loss of Andy Laska, longtime Men’s Basketball coach, athletic director, and namesake od the institution’s gymnasium, his former players, friends, teammates, and colleagues remember a person whose impact on many lives will live on. Laska passed away on February 2.

Assumption students and Special Olympics athletes celebrate the end of the inaugural Unified Sports soccer league last fall.

“Unifying” Assumption Students and Special Olympics Athletes

Last fall, Assumption became the first collegiate partner in Massachusetts to provide an opportunity for students and Special Olympic athletes from the Greater Worcester area to compete in an intramural Unified Sports soccer league. Unified Sports united Special Olympics athletes and students as teammates for training and competition.

Professor to Represent Assumption at National Colloquy

Travis Gagen, assistant professor of health sciences in the Department of Human Services and Rehabilitation Studies, will represent Assumption at the Collegium’s 2019 Summer Colloquy on Faith and Intellectual Life at Saint John’s University in Minnesota in June. The event’s goal is to foster a discussion on spiritual and intellectual life.
